Kielbasa Stew Recipe

This stew is great any time but especially in the winter months. The Kielbasa, green beans and potato flavors just compliment each other so well and I usually serve it with fresh warm sourdough bread.

This is an easy recipes and does not take very long at all to prepare. I believe the longest it has ever taken me to prepare is 30 minutes but most of the time it is closer to 15 minutes. The recipe as outlined below will be enough to feed 4 people easily.

Prep Time – 20 minutes
Cook Time – 4 hours

  • 1 ea. – Polska Kielbasa 16 oz. – 2 links in pack (Ekrich)
  • 4 ea. – French Style Green Beans – 14 ½ oz. Can (Del Monte)
  • 2 ea. – New Potatoes – Diced – 14 ½ oz. Can (Del Monte)
  • 2 Tsp. – Salt
  • 4 Tsp. – Pepper
  • 1 Tsp. – Onion Salt (can substituted with 14 ½ oz. can – white onions)

1. Empty entire contents of all Green Bean and Potato cans into crock pot and set for the crock pot timer for 4 hours. If your crock pot does not have the time setting, then set to medium heat and set your manual timer for 4 hours. If you are using a stew pot the same heat and time applies.

2. Add the salt, pepper and onion salt to the pot with the green bean and potatoes, stirring in thoroughly.

3. Cut the Kielbasa into ¼” to ½” slices and then ¼ each of the slices – add to pot and mix in with green beans and potatoes

That’s it, that’s all there is to it. Just sit back and let the stew cook, stirring about  every 30 minutes and enjoy the warm, hearty, full flavor of your Kielbasa Stew.
