How do you measure success in life?

It seems as though most people would agree, in their own way, as to the measure; Are you happy? If so, then you just may be successful.

In my professional life I have found a career path that I love to be in and have made and continue to make a difference in. It fits my personality, knowledge, skill set, and the experiences I have had in my life. It also helps me achieve my goals by providing for my family.

Oh, I will never be able to live in a huge mansion or drive $100k cars but hey, who needs that many rooms to clean and some idiot will just come along and ding the doors up anyway. No, I am not a pessimist, just a logical realist.

In my personal life I must say that I have a ways to go to consider myself a success. My son is eight right now, has a very high IQ and his reading and comprehension is at a high school level. He has the conversational maturity of a young adult and can talk about most subjects that come up in daily conversation and is very passionate about his viewpoints. Just ask him and he will tell you. However, he still has the emotional maturity of an eight year old. So I can not say how successful I am right now, I think I will have to wait and see how he turns out before declaring success.

So, are you successful? If you are, I congratulate you, and If not, what are you actively doing to make the changes needed to be successful? How do you measure success?

Small Tidbits:

  • Don’t worry about things. If you can do something about it, then do so. If not, then worrying will not help.
  • Don’t have a care in the world what others think about you. Just be yourself and the best self you can be, and that will be enough.

NOTE: I see many people on a daily basis that are just miserable in their job but continue to go down the same path, day in and day out. I just do not understand this mentality. If you are unhappy in your job, you will most likely never know what true happiness is in life. I plan on addressing this issue in the coming days with my Blog post about my latest career path change.

Great job. One of the biggest lessons I learned was not to get caught up in the opinions of others. Most people can not be happy for someone else.

    Take Care,
